Consequence

DURING NIGHT OPERATION, THE LACK OF A LIGHT MAY DIVERTTHE ATTENTION OF THE DRIVER, THEREBY CONTRIBUTING TO AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy

INSTALL A LIGHT OVER THE WIPER/WASHER CONTROL SWITCH.

AN INCORRECT DIAMETER WASHER MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON SOME SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLY FLOOR ANCHORAGES. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES."

Consequence

WASHERS OF AN INCORRECT DIAMETER MAY NOT BE ABLE TOWITHSTAND THE FORCES OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT, PULLING OUT OF THE FLOOR,AND SUBJECTING SEAT OCCUPANTS TO INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.

Remedy

INSTALL CORRECT DIAMETER (2.25 INCH) WASHERS.

SAFETY BELTS MAY BE INCORRECTLY ROUTED BECAUSE A PASSAGE HOLE THROUGH THE SEAT WAS NOT PROVIDED, AND THERE MAY BE EXCESSIVE SLACK IN THE SAFETY BELT, WHICH DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 209, "SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLIES."

Consequence

EXCESSIVE SLACK IN THE SAFETY BELT INCREASES THE RISK OFINJURY TO SEAT OCCUPANT IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR ACCIDENT.

Remedy

REROUTE THE SAFETY BELT TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF SLACK.
