Defect
CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES HAVE AN IMPROPER WELDED VENT PIPE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL TANK. DUE TO VIBRATION THE IMPROPERLY WELDED TANKS MAY CRACK AND DRIP FUEL.
Consequence
FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE FUEL TANK FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 7, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 866-784-1870.

“I WAS NOTIFIED OF SAFETY RECALL UPON INITIAL TITLING OF MY BIKE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY BIKE TO MY NEAREST HONDA SERVICE CENTER IN TAMPA, "EXTREME POWERSPORTS" . THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ASKED ME TO RETURN IN A WEEK AND SAID IT WAS SAFE TO RIDE. I RETURNED ON AGREED DATE & TIME TO HAVE THE RECALL…”
