Defect

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB and 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The body panel joint may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Consequence

The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and repair the interior vertical joint as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Defect

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The brake lines may have been installed with incorrect hardware, which can result in brake line damage and cause a leak.

Consequence

A brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the brake lines and brake line retainers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 27, 2026. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence

An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. While carrying the maximum number of occupants, the bus may exceed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the fuel tank and fluid reservoirs are full.

Consequence

An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026 IC Bus CESB school buses. The transmission shift actuator may not have been calibrated properly, preventing the transmission from shifting into reverse.

Consequence

The school bus may be unable to move as needed on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2024-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses. A tire may contact and damage the air dryer discharge line, causing an air leak and the unintentional activation of the parking brake.

Consequence

Unintended activation of the parking brake while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2026 IC Bus CESB school buses. The weld on the crank shaft assembly may fail, preventing the the left-side wiper from working.

Consequence

An inoperative wiper can reduce the driver's ability to see out of the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield wiper module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2025. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2016-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2016-2021 RESB school buses. The underfloor reinforcement may not have been installed, compromising the structural integrity of the buses. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages" and 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection."

Consequence

Reduced structural integrity may increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2024-2026 IC Bus CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The tension spring may corrode and break, disengaging the barking brake.

Consequence

A parking brake that is not engaged as expected when the driver releases the brakes may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy

Dealers will replace the parking brake cable and adjust the parking brake, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 6, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25511.

Defect

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses. The parking brake can be released when the wheelchair platform lift is deployed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."

Consequence

A bus that moves while the platform lift is in operation increases the risk of injury.

Remedy

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC CESB and 2025 EVSB school buses. The driver's seat belt anchor bolt may come loose.

Consequence

A loose seat belt may not properly restrain the driver in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Defect

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses equipped with halogen headlights. When the high beams are activated, the low beams turn off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence

Headlight low beam failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy
