1994 Nissan Sentra problems

Verdict · NHTSA data

One of the years to avoid

The 1994 Nissan Sentra carries two red flags at once: 130 consumer complaints filed with NHTSA and an open NHTSA defect investigation (subject: CORRISION FATIGUE OF FRONT COIL SPRINGS). It is one of the Sentra years to avoid. Complainants reported 28 injuries in total across these filings.

No single system dominates the record — complaints spread across seat belts (29), brakes (21), and visibility & wipers (12), which usually points to general build quality rather than one defect.
