2019 Toyota Yaris problems

Verdict · NHTSA data

One of the years to avoid

The 2019 Toyota Yaris carries two red flags at once: 43 consumer complaints filed with NHTSA — 2.0× the Yaris norm — and an open NHTSA defect investigation (subject: Electrical problems / No-start). It is one of the Yaris years to avoid.

No single system dominates the record — complaints spread across electrical system (10), engine (8), and fuel system (7), which usually points to general build quality rather than one defect.
