Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence

A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Defect

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2024 TA Series, AT Series, L Series, LR Series Aerial Devices, and AF Series Forestry bodies. The fuel lines may not be properly secured, which can cause the lines to chafe and result in a fuel leak.

Consequence

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the fuel lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide a kit to secure the lines. If the lines are damaged, the chassis manufacturer will repair the fuel lines. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Altec LR7 and LR8 aerial devices. The hydraulic cylinder feeder tube routed near the cylinder rest bracket may become damaged and leak oil, which can result in uncontrolled boom movement.

Consequence

Uncontrolled movement of the boom can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 CB5-132D-S vehicles equipped with a Bobcat 260 welder installed on a track system. The welder may be misaligned, preventing the mounting fasteners from being properly tightened.

Consequence

Loose fasteners can allow the welder to detach from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Aerial Devices (AT, TA, L44, L45, LR8, AA, AM, AN) and D series Digger Derricks (DH, DL, DM, DT). The power inverter that converts electrical DC power to AC power may have been installed without a circuit breaker to protect the AC output circuit.

Consequence

Without a circuit breaker, the AC circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Altec will install a 20-amp circuit breaker in the AC circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2023. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 3103.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019-2022 AT335 vehicles. An inverter-powered outlet may have been installed at the aerial boom tip without ground-fault interrupter (GFCI) protection.

Consequence

An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury or fire.

Remedy

Altec will provide instructions to inspect the light assembly for moisture and install a new fuse. If moisture is found or the light is inoperative, a light replacement kit will be installed. Consequence

A missing weld on the rear pole rack can lead to a crack that could cause the pole and rack to drop in height, increasing the risk of an injury.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2019-2022 AT41ME aerial devices. The material handling interlocking valve may lose power when the outriggers are not set, allowing the jib winch to be operated while the outriggers are up.

Consequence

Outriggers that are not set when loads are being lifted by the jib winch may cause the unit to tip, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will install a visual indication system to show when the outriggers are set or not set, and provide a new pre-operational inspection placard, free of charge.
