Defect

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2025-2026 Digger Derrick and 2025-2026 Aerial Device vehicles. The front end radar was improperly installed, which may result in improper operation of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Active Brake Assist (ABA).

Consequence

While driving, the brakes may activate unexpectedly without the driver's input, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Altec will inform the owners to inspect the front end radar installation and if installed incorrectly, instruct owners to take the vehicle to an OEM Chassis dealer to have the radar remounted and calibrated, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 12, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3309.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Service Body, Aerial Device, Pressure Digger, Spray Truck, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The low tire pressure rating printed on the final stage certification label is incorrect.

Consequence

An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

Remedy

Altec will inspect and replace the incorrect certification label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3294.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Aerial Device and Digger Derrick vehicles. The electronic taillight module harness may have inadequate circuit protection.

Consequence

Wiring without adequate protection may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Altec will provide instructions on inspecting and updating the circuit as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832.

The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.

Consequence

An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Altec Aerial Device, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The chassis ignition circuit may be overloaded, which can result in a blown fuse and cause an engine shutdown.

Consequence

An engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Altec will replace the hydraulic tank heater relay, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 29, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3247. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 24V681.

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence

A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Aerial Device, and Digger Derrick vehicles. The front winch bumper may be secured with incorrect bolts, which can cause the bumper to detach from the vehicle.

Consequence

A front bumper that detaches can become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. In addition, the bolts can fail suddenly during winch operation, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will replace the bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 10, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3244.
