EXECESSIVE FUEL WAS BEING DISPENCED DOWN THE PLENUM FILLING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WITH GASOLINE. WHEN CONVERTER REACHED OPERATING TEMP. OF APPROX. 1800 DEGREES THE FUEL IN THE CONVERTER WAS IGNITED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.
