Defect

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. These vehicles were remedied under NHTSA Recall 25V390 with a brake jumper wire harness that was assembled without protective tape. A wiring harness that is missing protective tape can allow the wires to become damaged.

Consequence

Damaged brake jumper wires can result in power brake assist failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will remove the installed wire harness, apply protective tape, and reinstall the wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are planned to be mailed December 22, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N252531990. Vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under 25V390 and will need to have the new remedy completed. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025.

Defect

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.

Consequence

An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

Remedy

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N242482680. Vehicles in this recall that were previously repaired under 23V266 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet 6500HD vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) was calibrated incorrectly, allowing the vehicle to exceed the tires' maximum speed rating of 75 mph.

Consequence

Tire failure can occur if the vehicle speed exceeds the maximum tire speed rating, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will update the ECM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N202325530.

Defect

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4500, 5500 and 6500 vehicles and 2017-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 vehicles and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with Duramax 6.6 liter diesel engines and an optional engine-block heater. The engine block heater cord or the terminals that connect the heater cord to the block heater may short circuit and fail.

Consequence

A short-circuit may damage the engine components and increase the risk of fire.

Remedy

GM will contact owners, dealers will replace the engine block heater, free of charge. Additionally, in Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 vehicles, dealers will install a new rerouted heater cord. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-586-596-1733. GM's number for this recall is N182206310.
