2022 Lucid Air problems

Verdict · NHTSA data

One of the years to avoid

The 2022 Lucid Air carries two red flags at once: 37 consumer complaints filed with NHTSA — 1.6× the Air norm — and an open NHTSA defect investigation (subject: High Voltage Coolant Heaters may fail to defrost windshield). It is one of the Air years to avoid.

No single system dominates the record — complaints spread across electrical system (7), transmission (6), and fuel system (5), which usually points to general build quality rather than one defect.
