2023 Lucid Air problems

Verdict · NHTSA data

One of the years to avoid

The 2023 Lucid Air carries two red flags at once: 40 consumer complaints filed with NHTSA — 1.7× the Air norm — and an open NHTSA defect investigation (subject: High Voltage Coolant Heaters may fail to defrost windshield). It is one of the Air years to avoid.

No single system dominates the record — complaints spread across other (9), driver assistance (8), and electrical system (7), which usually points to general build quality rather than one defect. In government crash testing it earned 5 of 5 NCAP stars overall.
