Defect

Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Low Floor transit buses. The air compressor intake pipe may contact and damage the fuel line.

Consequence

A damaged fuel line may leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Gillig will inspect, replace, and reorient the intake pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 24, 2026. Owners may contact Gillig's customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Defect

Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Low Floor transit buses. The high voltage cable, connecting the inverter to the drive unit, contains a splice connection that reduces the amp capacity rating.

Consequence

Reduced capacity may cause the cable to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Gillig will reprogram the software as an interim repair. For the final remedy, Gillig will replace the high voltage cable. Both repairs will be provided free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed April 14, 2026. Another notice will be sent once the final remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Gillig's customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Defect

Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2025 Low Floor transit buses. The rear axle upper torque rod fasteners may have been improperly tightened. A loose torque rod may contact and damage other axle components.

Consequence

Damaged axle components can decrease stability or vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Gillig will replace the torque rod fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 26, 2026. Owners may contact Gillig's customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Defect

Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2025 Low Floor transit buses equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence

An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Gillig will work with Q'Straint to replace the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 16, 2026. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.
